How to Integrate Your Social Media and Content Marketing Efforts (Infographic)

by Christine Mortensen on April 22, 2016

Most marketers may separate their content marketing and their social media efforts, but these two shouldn’t be separate. Instead, they should be intertwined. This scenario benefits both types of marketing equally and offers you scenario where you can truly “have your cake and eat it.”

How is this done? Today we’ll look at three ways to merge these two aspects of your business and then look at an infographic designed to give you the tools you need to maximize your efforts on social media.

2 Key Elements of a Conjoined Content Marketing/Social Media Strategy

Most websites and blogs focus on a content strategy that remains solely focused on their site. While I do recommend this over at On Blast Blog, the concept of adding social media into the fold just seems like a waste of time and energy to many, but it can be used in tandem with your content to create a mutually beneficial means of promotion and lead generation.

Take a look at these three strategies for integrating social media into your content marketing:

1. Curate Content That is Relevant

Content curation is a mixed bag of efforts. You can’t simply post links to content and move on. This isn’t Reddit we’re talking about. Facebook, Twitter, and other major platforms are designed to spark engagement with your readers.

To do this, post links that are not only relevant, but current as well. This can include breaking news or solutions to common problems your customers face. While you’re doing this, you can continue to work on your own groundbreaking content to post on your social media pages.

2. Make Your Posts Irresistible

Posting simple and onenote status updates or links won’t do the trick. You need to make your content stand out on social media. To do this, pair your posts with colorful and exciting images. Give them a strong title and a concise description. Most importantly, provide a call-to-action. Motivate your readers to do something.
